An infographic on the fantasies vs realities of a startup

For those of us in the know, this infographic makes me smile. If you’re new to the startup world, then its perfectly suited for you, although you’ll insist you’re on the right-hand-side of the story.
The infographic covers the realities of finance, product development, sales pipelines and dreams of early retirement. We have to change the [...]

Officially two months and I am finally starting to feel at ease ..

So Johannesburg is NOT Cape Town, anyone can tell you that. What they don’t tell you is that everything moves faster (especially the traffic) and everything is bigger, especially the freeways.
Usually I am quite a assertive driver, but “Omar Sharif my balls!” Jozi drivers and freeways are somethin’ else!
I have to say that getting used [...]

Congratulations to my double couple on their double wedding day ..

So in March to got to visit Cape Town for two weddings on the same day on opposite sides of Cape Town. Anyone who knows me knows I am not a fan of weddings, but for very close, amazing, dear friends getting married on the same day, I made the exception.
I attended the ceremony at Croyden [...]

First experiences … 2011

9 February 2011, finally becoming productive

Today started off really early. My boyfriend’s ex was visiting the animals to say goodbye so two major things were happening:

I was meeting my partners ex-wife for the first time

The day went okay. Yes it was a little weird, but it [...]

Casalinga, what an experience!

Sunday arrives and we’re excited. Well I am anyway. Although feeling slightly worse for wear from last night, I’ve been told that we are about to partake in a special lunch at Casalinga. The restaurant is about 35 minutes out of Joburg and as we arrive I am taken a back.
Wow-ness!
It feels as if I am [...]

New year, blank canvas, lets get painting … happy 2011

As the new year enters, I am filled with hope for 2011 and memories of 2010. Today I met up with one of my longest standing friends  (for “brunch”) and we reminisced about many things.
Making the top of the list was the World Cup 2010. The memories of the many games we watched and [...]

Remember remember the end of November … oh my … what a ride!

Dear Me,
I cannot believe the end of November stares me in the face. I can only say with out a shadow of a doubt that 2010 has been the most challenging and growing year of my existence. Between family, friends and life loves, the journey has been …. interesting.
If anyone has to ask how a [...]

End of 2010 in sight and …we’re still standing ✶

It has been a journey of note. I often forget amidst the “doing” how much has happened to me and those around me. I’ve had ups and downs, been tested and challenged, but overall, I have grown.
I often need to remind myself of how many amazing experiences I have had in the past year. We [...]
