Six months in review …

Okay so it’s been more than six months, but lots has transpired. Yes, I said “transpired“. Using the word “happened” feels insignificant at least.
So, we’re looking back and taking stock. What exactly has been filling my time? The new baby/business, the new-new business, new projects, new clients, new experiences.
I’ve officially decided to keep www.shanakay.com as [...]

Time for another “awesome” list

Yes, I’ve been flu bound for what feels like – oh, let me see, for”ever”. But, I will not let the sniffles, sneezes, sore nose, ears and throat, congestion like the freeway when it rains and there’s been an accident, or lack of sleep get me down. No, no way, not I.

Confession time …

Okay, it’s officially confession time. The biggest confession I can make to the known world. Okay…. here it is.
Or should I……… okay so I am having second thougts, oh who am I kidding. It’s time to come clean. Hi, my name is Shana, and I am……. I am ………. a……. hopeless …….
…………. romantic! There, I [...]

Final week of 2009, a personal review ..

Talk about ch-ch-changes, I know I have had my fair share of them. I am feeling reflective this week as we head towards the new year and look at the year that was. I laugh now, but not so long ago I was drowning my sorrows in a huge jug of “self pity”, a tumbler [...]

December 09, time for reflection….

Wow, what a year, what a ride.
I could never concede in Jan 2009 that this year would be the one to challenge each and every belief I have in more ways than one. This year I changed by name, my career, started a new business, changed my relationship status, made new friends, lost some [...]

“Moving on”, by Shana Kay

Moving on
- Shana Kay
Life is not static
It is filled with interactions
Perceived as good or bad
Sometimes we need the bad
To make us move, to make us do …
Sometimes the bad allows the good
Knocking on the door, to enter
This is when we realise, and move on
Moving on from love or life’s situation
Is hard to do
Moving forward is [...]

Unplugged…

I’ve just returned from a mini-break of pure bliss. I am very plugged into the world, both metaphorically and literally. Last weekend was different. I was whisked away to a little town outside of Cape Town and usually when I leave town, everything technology-driven comes along. Cell phone, iPod, MacBook etc. Not this time though.
I [...]
